Jude Bellingham was told off by opposition players for his signature celebration after he scored a stunner on his Real Madrid debut.

Known for marking his goals with outstretched arms, the young English ace was confronted with "you can't do that here" by Athletic Bilbao stars.

Bagging an impressive £86million move to Los Blancos in summer of 2023, Bellingham wasted no time making a mark at the Spanish club during his first match on August 12, 2024. In their opener of the 2023/24 season at Bilbao, Bellingham found the net.

With cool composure, he met a high corner at the far post directly, lobbing the ball over the keeper's head. Echoing his glory days with Borussia Dortmund, he rushed to celebrate in front of the fans donning his new Real Madrid kit for the first time.

He opted for his famous arms spread wide stance as he looked up into the crowd, only to be met with jeers from a section of Bilbao's loyal followers.

The moment the midfielder wrapped up his celebratory antics, Bilbao's very own Iker Muniain marched up to him, heatedly cautioning him to not rile the local crowd. Bellingham, though, confesses the Spanish player's warning went unheeded, reports the Express.

The England star shared on his new YouTube channel: "When you celebrate against an opposition you're not doing it to provoke them, you're just doing it because you're happy you've scored. So yeah, I put my arms out and did the celebration that I always do.

"I remember a couple of their players came over to me saying 'you can't do that here'. I've not listened so yeah, I'll probably keep doing it."

Despite receiving a cautionary word from Muniain, Bellingham's confidence remained unshaken. The English prodigy justified his bold celebrations by netting 23 goals and clinching both La Liga and Champions League titles in his debut season.

Bellingham's iconic celebration has been emulated by top athletes across all sorts of sports, including tennis star Carlos Alcaraz and UFC's Khabib Nurmagomedov, who are among those to have paid homage to the young star's signature move.
