Bradley Walsh caught in savage National Television Awards blunder as he SWEARS after Ant and Dec victory

Bradley Walsh let out some choice words after unstoppable hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly won the TV Presenter award at the National Television Awards for the 23rd time

Bradley Walsh turned the air blue as he lost out to the unstoppable presenting duo Ant and Dec at the 2024 National Television Awards.

The 64-year-old host of The Chase was up to win the best presenter award on Wednesday night - but lost out to fellow ITV stars Ant McPartlin, 48, and Declan Donnelly. They were also competing against Alison Hammond, Claudia Winkleman and Stacey Solomon.

But it was Ant and 48-year-old Dec who scooped the prize - making it their inexplicable 23rd win in a row. Bradley seized an opportunity to mock the Saturday Night Takeaway stars over their relentless winning as he got up from his seat at the O2 Arena when the winner was announced.

Despite not having his name called, Bradley got up from his seat and started making his way to the stage. He then looked confused about them winning, and as Ant told him to go away he shouted: "Taking the p**s!"

Ant and Dec then pressed on with their acceptance speech - with Dec declaring: "Sit down, Bradley! Sit down!" They then stunned fans by hinting they were planning to stay away from the limelight for an unknown amount of time.

Dec said: "Thank you – it’s really hard to put into words just how this feels and what it means to us that you take the time to vote for us." Ant described the gong as a "joy" and joked that one day they would not collect it, but tonight was not the night.

He then said: "What can we say? Thank you so much. It's really, really hard to put into words just how this feels year after year and how much it means to us that you take the time to vote for us and make us your winners." Ant added: "Honestly, it's a joy, we know we're not gonna win it one year but it's not tonight, thank God. But thank you to everybody who works with us on our shows, we love you, we wouldn't be here without you guys."

While the presenting award was for their work on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, Ant and Dec are of course the hosts of Saturday Night Takeaway. They shocked fans last year by announcing they were to cancel the show.

They coincided with the end of the 20th season of the madcap weekend gameshow. "We love making Saturday Night Takeaway, but reaching the milestone of 20 series seemed like the perfect time to pause for a little while and catch our breath," Ant said in a statement in May 2023.

Dec added: "We still have a momentous 20th series to look forward to first so we will do our best to go out (for now) with a bang in 2024." The show finally came to an end in April this year.
