Manchester City will be eager to start their Champions League strongly just as they have in their Premier League title defence but a clash with Serie A champions Inter Milan will certainly be a tough task to kick things off on the European stage anyway.

Of course, they will be looking towards Erling Haaland to spearhead the attack as the Norwegian shows no signs of slowing down his impressive goal ratio this season. He will no doubt be a cause for concern for the Inter Milan defence but if their title-winning season tells us, they have a very organised defence a their disposal too. Winning the league by 19 points is impressive enough but conceding just 22 goals with 21 clean sheets shows Simonhe Inzaghi has addressed a number of issues when he inherited the squad three years ago.

He is certain reaping the rewards for his efforts but now attention turns to the European stage and will be keen to make Inter a powerhouse so a result at the Etihad Stadium will certainly open things up in the revamped Champions League even with seven matches to go afterwards.
