Hosting rights for Blind Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 taken away from India? Reports in PAK media make claim

The Indian government refused to give clearance to the Indian blind team for the ongoing T20 WC in Pakistan, and similar is the stance for Champions Trophy too.

Amid the ongoing chaos for the Champions Trophy 2025 — where BCCIs refusal to send the team to Pakistan — has caused a furor, there is a shocking development from the world of blind cricket. As per various reports in Pakistani media, the hosting rights for the 2025 Blind Women’s T20 World Cup have been taken away from India, due to issues regarding visa approvals and travel permissions.

No Hosting Rights for India for Blind Women’s T20 World Cup?

A report by Geo.tv also suggested that the decision was taken at the World Blind Cricket Council meeting in Multan. Now, the tournament is expected to take place at a neutral venue, where there would be no visa issues for both the countries. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Syed Sultan Shah was elected as the president of World Blind Cricket Council for another term. It is important to note that the men’s Blind T20 World Cup is taking place in the neighbouring nation right now, where the Indian team did not get the clearance to participate.

Champions Trophy 2025 Stance for BCCI

Not agreeing with the “hybrid model” for most part, PCB seems to have come up with their own “Partnership or Fusion Formula” where all IND vs PAK ICC matches should be played at neutral venues for the next three years. The Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held in the February to March window, however the final schedule is not out yet.

One should not forget, that no Indian team has toured Pakistan, or played in the country since 2008, while the last bilateral series happened in 2012-13.
