Results of General Election 2024 are coming in

- So far, 41 Dáil seats have been filled.

- First count results are in from 41 constituencies, with just Cavan-Monaghan and Kildare North yet to return a result.

- Fine Gael has 11 TDs elected, with party leader Simon Harris elected after topping the poll in Wicklow. Deputy leader Helen McEntee has been elected in Meath East. Jennifer Carroll MacNeill was the first elected TD of the 34th Dáil and shortly after Patrick O'Donovan was deemed elected in Limerick County.

Neale Richmond has also been elected in Dublin Rathdown, along with first-time TDs Emer Currie in Dublin West, Willie Aird in Laois, Barry Ward in Dún Laoghaire, John Paul O'Shea (Cork North-East) and John Clendennen (Offaly). Peter Burke has also been elected in Longford-Westmeath.

- Fianna Fáil has 11 TDs with leader Micheál Martin topping the poll in his Cork South-Central constituency. Jack Chambers has been elected in Dublin West; Aisling Dempsey elected for Meath West. and Cormac Devlin has been elected in Dún Laoghaire.

Willie O'Dea has been elected in Limerick City and newcomer Tony McCormack in Offaly. Niall Collins retained his seat in Limerick Count, while Aindrias Moynihan and Michael Moynihan both held their seats in Cork North-West. In Cork South-West Christopher O'Sullivan has been elected.

- Sinn Féin has eight TDs elected, including party leader Mary Lou McDonald in Dublin Central and Pearse Doherty in Donegal. The other elected TDs are: Paul Donnelly (Dublin West), Eoin Ó Broin (Dublin Mid-West), David Cullinane (Waterford), Johnny Guirke (Meath West), Louise O'Reilly (Dublin Fingal West) and Pádraig MacLochlainn (Donegal).

- Green Party leader Roderic O'Gorman said that today's result has been disappointing, but his party will "start the rebuild next week". The party's junior ministers Joe O'Brien and Ossian Smyth have lost their seats in Dublin Fingal West and Dún Laoghaire respectively.

- Richard Boyd Barrett, People Before Profit/Solidarity, was deemed elected for Dún Laoghaire.

- Independent Verona Murphy elected in Wexford; Michael Lowry elected in Tipperary North, Carol Nolan elected in Offaly, Michael Healy-Rae topped the poll in Kerry. Seán Canney was elected in Galway East. All five were retaining their seats.

- Michael Fitzmaurice topped the poll and was elected on the first count for Independent Ireland in Roscommon-Galway. Richard O'Donoghue secured the second seat in Limerick County, with Michael Collins also retaining his seat in Cork South-West.

- Aontú's Peadar Tóibín has been re-elected in Meath West.

- Ceann Comhairle Sean Ó Fearghail (Fianna Fáil, Kildare South) is automatically re-elected.

- Social Democrats leader Holly Cairns is elected in Cork South-West with the party also chasing several gains, including in Cork South-Central.

- Seven first-time TDs have been elected so far: Willie Aird (Fine Gael, Laois), Barry Ward (Fine Gael, Dún Laoghaire), Emer Currie (Fine Gael, Dublin West), Aisling Dempsey (Fianna Fáil, Meath West), John Clendennen (Fine Gael, Offaly), Tony McCormack (Fianna Fáil, Offaly), John Paul O'Shea (Fine Gael, Cork North-West)

- Five outgoing TDs have lost their seats: Francis Noel Duffy (Green Party, Dublin South-West), Joe O'Brien (Green Party, Dublin Fingal West), Ossian Smyth (Green Party, Dún Laoghaire), Patricia Ryan (Independent, Kildare South), Violet-Anne Wynne (Independent, Clare)

- Pearse Doherty records highest first-preference vote with 18,898 number ones, just ahead of Michael Healy-Rae on 18,596. However, in percentage terms Simon Harris came out on top with 29.56%.

- Two former TDs look set for comebacks - Timmy Dooley should top the poll in Clare, while Independent Kevin 'Boxer' Moran is well placed to return in Longford-Westmeath.

- Meath West was the first constituency to have completed its count. All Dáil seats in Cork North-West, Dún Laoghaire, Limerick County and Offaly have also been filled.
