Murder arrests after baby found dead at home in 'distressing incident'

A 26-year-old woman and 25-year-old man have been questioned by police and arrested on suspicion of murder after the baby was found dead in a home in Stoke-on-Trent

Two people have been arrested after a baby boy was found dead inside a home.

Paramedics tried to save the baby's life after they arrived at the home in Sherwin Road, Stoke-on-Trent, on August 27. Staffordishire Police Detective Inspector Gina Pope, from our Major Investigations Department, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a distressing incident which will have shocked the local community.

“We are working to establish the circumstances around the baby’s death."
