You Were Born This Way, Baby — As A Queer Person, Share The Moments That Made You Grateful To Be Gay

by · BuzzFeed

One of the things that brings me the most joy is being surrounded by other queer people, sharing experiences, and laughing over those little moments that only fellow LGBTQ+ folks truly understand. We've all had those times when we think, "Thank GOD I'm gay," but we tend to keep those thoughts to ourselves — unless we're in the company of other queer people.

Now is your chance to shout from the interweb rooftops, sharing the things you've seen in the straight world that have made you so, so, so glad you were born exactly the way you are.

Perhaps you've had a night out with a group of straight friends and discovered their version of "going out" involves no dancing and is pretty much just several rounds of light beer around a dimly lit pool table.

Or, maybe you've seen how many straight couples lead mostly separate lives with their own friends, interests, and communities, only coming together for dates, sex, and sleeping. Do you feel lucky that your partner is integrated into your shared community? Do you love that they also want to spend their Sunday watching the new season of Emily In Paris and cooking an elaborate meal?

Maybe you've noticed the unfair gendered power dynamics of some heterosexual relationships and felt lucky you never had to deal with that.

Maybe you've had to attend a gender reveal party.
