Coleen Nolan found it difficult to continue her tribute to the late Loose Women star Lynda Bellingham, breaking down on-air.

The former singer had a close relationship with the Oxo advert actress, having shared the ITV stage with her and being present during her final TV appearance.

Remembering Lynda's last interview on Loose Women, where she told emotional viewers that she was stopping her chemotherapy and wanted fans to remember her for her "honesty", Coleen couldn't keep her composure.

Even at that time, Coleen struggled to express herself and was tearful on set. A decade later, she remembered a moment they shared after the emotional episode.

Lynda knew that the former Nolan's sister had found the conversation difficult and knew she'd be going out for a smoke, reports the Mirror.

The singer recalled: "She hated smoking, but she said, 'I'll come with you. I might as well have a cigarette'."

Reflecting on that moment, Coleen said: "I really miss her," as she started to cry. Later, emotions escalated as the cast were joined by Christopher Biggins - who also gave a heartfelt tribute to the courageous TV star, reminiscing fondly about her character.

There were more surprises in store, as her two sons Robert and Michael provided ITV with a voice message tribute that was broadcast on the show.

Lynda's two sons expressed that they remain "bursting with pride" for their mother's accomplishments and extended their gratitude to everyone, including the team at Loose Women, for keeping her memory alive a decade later.

The atmosphere in the studio was emotionally charged as tears flowed while those present paid tribute to the dearly missed star who passed away on October 14, 2014.

The ITV crew were deeply moved upon hearing the news of Lynda's passing in the embrace of her husband Michael, which came only a fortnight after she had appeared on stage with Coleen.

In a poignant conclusion to the episode, Coleen rose to her feet, leading a standing ovation in honour of her cherished friend and colleague, declaring "this one's for you Lynda," while host Christine offered a supportive touch.
