Karaoke bar with 'cheap wings, shots and power ballads' opens in former Northern Quarter institution
by Adam Maidment · Manchester Evening NewsA new karaoke bar in the Northern Quarter has promised ‘cheap wings, shots and plenty of power ballads’ as it opens up to the public in the former spot of a well-loved venue.
Bunny’s Karaoke, from the same team behind Bunny Jackson’s, has taken over the previous location of Luck, Lust Liquor and Burn (more commonly known as just Liquor and Burn) after it closed down in August.
Situated on the top floor of the High Street venue, the walls of the karaoke bar are covered with music posters - featuring stars including the likes of David Bowie and The Ramones - as well as quirky, graffiti-style flooring.

The karaoke spot takes its inspiration from top 2000 film Coyote Ugly and encourages people to get up off their seats and jump on the bar as they belt out their favourite songs. In fact, anyone who dares sing a Nickleback song will even get a free shot for their bravery.
Decked out with Americana memorabilia, including flag bunting, the bar also serves up what Bunny Jackson’s has become known for - its chicken wings and fun cocktails. Wings are available in a variety of flavours, including Jack Daniel’s Honey and Mustard, classic, Nashville Hot and the bold Hotter Than the Sun, and start from just 25p each.

“We have the wings made famous at the original Bunny Jackson’s site,” Mof Gimmers, marketing & events manager for Bunny Jackson’s tells the Manchester Evening News. “We also have our own bespoke cocktail menu and a Dutch Courage shot menu if you need a little help singing in front of everyone. If you sing Nickelback, we’ll give you a free Pickleback.”
Open from 5pm until 3am every day, and from 12pm on Saturday, the karaoke bar also features private booths that people can book out for parties and events if they want something a little more personal.
For the Bunny Jackson’s team, with their original site thriving on First Street, the idea of coming up with their own karaoke bar was fuelled by their own passion for socialising together over a sing-a-long.

“We’d all been doing karaoke together socially and it was such a laugh that we wanted to do it for ourselves in our own dive-bar way,” Mof said. “Cheap wings, shots and belting out some power ballads? Can’t beat it.”
To go with the karaoke bar, downstairs is the Bunny Jackson’s Country Club featuring a menu serving up the likes of burgers, Jalapeño poppers, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and tater tots alongside a rhinestone-ready playlist of country and western favourites.
Speaking about the reaction since opening last week, Mof added: “It’s been really great. We’ve actually been pleasantly surprised by it honestly. It has been wild with people singing and jumping on the bar to serenade everyone. We’re loving it.”
Bunny's Karaoke is on 100-102 High Street, Manchester, M4 1HP. Private booths can be booked out here.
