Sir Paul McCartney has been inundated with messages of support and well-wishes after he posted a heartwarming family update. Amid his bustling Got Back tour, which kicked off with a concert in Montevideo last week, the 82-year-old Beatles icon took a brief pause from his vibrant South American tour schedule to celebrate a very personal milestone.

The celebrated musician shared an affectionate post on Instagram for his wedding anniversary, having been married to Nancy Shevell since 2011, much to the delight of his 4.5 million followers. Sir Paul uploaded a charming photo of the couple with the endearing caption: "Wishing a fabulous anniversary to my beautiful missus."

Fans and celebrities alike flooded the comments section with their best wishes, including Rita Wilson who wrote: "Happy happy anniversary love birds! " Rusty joined in with "Happy Anniversary you two! Lots of love."

Katrice simply stated: "Happy Anniversary! ", and Fran added: "Happy anniversary, Nancy and Paul". This time also marked another poignant moment for Beatles admirers as they remembered John Lennon on what would have been his 84th birthday, October 9. Honouring Lennon's legacy, the National Trust kept the light shining in his childhood bedroom at his Woolton home, which Yoko Ono graciously preserved by buying it back in March 2002 and subsequently handing it over to the National Trust to protect against demolition and developers, reports the Liverpool Echo.

In a 2022 interview, Simon Osborne, General Manager of the National Trust's Liverpool properties, expressed his pride in caring for Mendips, John Lennon's childhood home in Liverpool. He said: "We're proud to care for Mendips, the childhood home of John Lennon in Liverpool. On 9 October, John Lennon's birthday, we leave the light on overnight in John's bedroom as a simple tribute to him and his cultural legacy."

He added: "John's bedroom is the place where some of the earliest Beatles hits were written, where Lennon and McCartney once sat on John's bed to start composing songs like 'Please Please Me' and 'I Call Your Name'."

Beatles fans are currently buzzing with excitement as Paul McCartney performs The Beatles' final song, Now and Then, live for the first time on his current tour. The song, which was released in November 2023, originated from a home demo of a ballad that John had recorded in 1977 but left unfinished.

Surviving bandmates Sir Paul and Sir Ringo Starr completed the track using overdubs and guitar tracks from George Harrison, who passed away in 2001. They also utilised AI technology to separate the vocals from the home demo on the song.

Fans began to suspect that the song could be included on the setlist when Sir Paul was seen rehearsing the song in a newly released clip at the beginning of the month. A quick check on setlist.fm reveals that Sir Paul has indeed performed the song at his shows in Montevideo and Buenos Aires.
