A stunning house almost entirely painted in pink and with matching furnishings is on the market and has been likened to the iconic Barbie dreamhouse.

Featuring a bubblegum pink façade and quirky design, with floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the house in light, this is no ordinary home. The property - based in Thorndon, New Zealand - is on the market for $1,895,000 NZD (£892,099).

Designed and lived in by architect Roger Walker, the 1989 residence showcases a whimsical yet sophisticated style.
The home spans four levels and 290sqm and boasts three bedrooms and three bathrooms, reports Luxury Property News.

The heart of the home features a dining and kitchen area on a mezzanine floor, creating a fantastic entertaining space where both enjoy the panoramic city and harbour views. A unique turret feature offers a lounge area, loft bed and bathroom, while the other two bedrooms can be found in the main house.

The downstairs area can be customised as a living space, fourth bedroom, or gym, and the property also has a triple garage.
The listing images show the funky colour scheme extends from beyond the exterior, with pops of red and purple in the main living area. Meanwhile, the turret, seen behind the main house, is painted bright blue.

The listing, held by Tommy's Real Estate and Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, reads: "This stunning, award-winning 290sqm home on 271sqm of prime city fringe land offers a unique and clever design that showcases both innovation and functionality.

"In 1989 when the house was built, council rules allowed 100% site coverage on sites less than 300sqm so this is a never to be repeated design."

Other homes have been compared to Barbie's dreamhouse with one being found closer to home in Burnley, Lancashire. The house on Coal Clough Lane amassed over more than 1 million views on TikTok.

The most talked about feature was the kitchen, which was fitted with pink cupboards and shelves as well as being accessorised with a pink kettle, pink toaster, pink microwave and even a large pink fridge.
