Aldi to enforce 'two per person' rule for customers from December 27
Aldi is set to introduce a 'two per person' limit in all supermarkets across the UK next week - and it's all down to a new drink that's being launched in stores
by Paige Ingram, Charlotte Smith · The MirrorAldi is set to enforce a strict 'two per person' limit on purchases across its UK stores next week. From December 27 to December 31, shoppers will be restricted to buying just two bottles of a new beverage each.
During this period, Aldi's Crémant De Loire sparkling wine will see its price slashed from £8.99 to a mere £4.99. Customers can snap up two bottles for a total of £9.98 – perfect timing for post-Christmas and New Year festivities.
Aldi is implementing the rule to ensure fair access during the holiday season. The drink is anticipated to create a shopping frenzy due to its significant 44 per cent discount.

The supermarket chain is bracing for an extraordinary surge in demand following the wine's endorsement as the "steal of the season" by Jane MacQuitty, a renowned wine critic at The Times. Launched as part of Aldi's latest Autumn Winter collection, the Specially Selected Crémant De Loire has been lauded for its "mouthwatering, creamy, honey flecked, quince and golden apple fruit" flavours.
Aldi's decision to limit purchases to two bottles is aimed at allowing more customers the opportunity to celebrate the New Year with this acclaimed Crémant, according to Aldi executives, reports Lancs Live.
Aldi UK's Managing Director of Buying, Julie Ashfield, has said: "We want everyone to be able to raise a glass of quality wine this festive period, without breaking the bank. By lowering the price of our exquisite Crémant De Loire to just £4.99 and introducing a two-bottle limit, we're ensuring more customers can experience this exceptional sparkling wine at an unbelievable price."
Eager shoppers don't have to wait until December 27 for discounted indulgence, as Aldi has already reduced the prices on over 60 bottles within its Specially Selected wine range, offering up to 25 per cent off through to New Year's Eve. For those choosing to partake in these seasonal deals, it's important to consume alcohol sensibly.
