Actress Chloe Grace Moretz, who once dated Brooklyn Beckham, has publicly acknowledged her sexuality for the first time as she stated her reasons for voting for Democratic vice president Kamala Harris
by Zoe Delaney, Bang Showbiz · The MirrorActress Chloe Grace Moretz proudly declared herself a "gay woman" as she endorsed a presidential candidate on social media.
The 27-year-old Kick Ass star, who once dated Brooklyn Beckham, threw her support behind Kamala Harris in the presidential race, sharing her reasons in an empowering Instagram post.
Alongside a snap of her "I voted early 2024" sticker, Chloe penned: "I voted early and I voted for Kamala Harris. There is so much on the line this election. " "I believe the government has no right over my body as a woman, and that the decisions over my body should come ONLY from myself and my doctor. Kamala Harris will protect that for us."
She continued to express her stance, adding: "I believe in the need for legal protections that protects the LGBTQ+ community as a gay woman," and emphasized the importance of healthcare access. The actress then rallied her fans to vote early, sharing: "SO... Are you voting early? Let’s get a plan together to get to your polling place with your friends! Go to IWillVote.com to figure out the best plan for you."
Chloe was in a relationship with Victoria and David Beckham eldest son Brooklyn from 2014 to 2018. The former couple attended the 2016 Democratic National Convention in support of Hillary Clinton together ahead of the former first lady's loss to Donald Trump in that year's election.
While Chloe's announcement about her sexuality is a first, it may not shock her followers; People magazine had linked her to Kate Harrison since 2018 after they were spotted kissing at Nobu in California. Last year, Chloe confirmed she was in a long-term relationship.
The happy couple have been spotted on each other's Instagram feeds multiple times, most recently at a mate's wedding in September. Earlier this year, they were seen wearing rings on their left hands during a trip to Disneyland, where they donned matching denim ensembles.
Chloe's endorsement of Kamala Harris came as the presidential hopeful made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live just days before the US presidential election. The Democratic presidential nominee appeared as the "mirror image" of herself alongside actress Maya Rudolph, who reprised her role impersonating the vice president, during the show’s cold open.
Harris was scheduled to be heading to Detroit, Michigan before her campaign revealed she was making an unscheduled stop in New York City. The final show before Tuesday’s election opened on a CNN parody, before cutting to a Trump rally with Austin Johnson portraying the former president and his most recent Liz Cheney remarks.
It then cut to a conversation between Rudolph as Harris, Dana Carvey portraying President Joe Biden, Jim Gaffigan as vice presidential pick Tim Walz, and Andy Samberg’s Dough Emhoff. Rudolph stepped aside for a moment to reflect before her last campaign speech, seeing the real Harris as she looked into the mirror.
"I just wish I could talk to someone who’s been in my shoes," she said moments before the Democratic presidential nominee appeared. "You know, a black South Asian woman running for president, preferably from the Bay Area." The pair give each other a pep talk before resolving to "end the dram-ala" and "keep Kamala and carry on-a-la".
