Jayaraj, the father of Sharon Raj who was allegedly murdered by poisoning, testified in the court that his son had made a dying declaration against the prime accused S.S. Greeshma.

The Additional District Sessions Court in Neyyattinkara had granted police protection to Jayaraj, the fourth witness in the case, to provide his statement at court.

According to the witness, Sharon had told him at 5.30 a.m. on October 22, 2022, that Greeshma had mixed an unknown substance in an Ayurvedic tonic, and made him consume it. The drink, he suspected, had made him ill.

Sharon, who hailed from Muriyankara near Parassala, succumbed to multiple-organ failure on October 25, 2022. He had allegedly consumed paraquat, a deadly herbicide, given by the prime accused on October 14, 2022, and had to be subsequently hospitalised.
