The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday released its Sankalp Patra (manifesto) for the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the Sankalp Patra during a public meeting in Ranchi which was also attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Sanjay Seth and state BJP chief Babulal Marandi.

Speaking during the event, Shah said the party will implement Uniform Civil Code in the state and "drive out infiltrators" from Bangladesh.

"UCC (Uniform Civil Code) will be introduced in Jharkhand but the Tribal community will be kept out of the ambit of UCC," he said.

"We will bring the law and return the land taken away from women. Hemant Soren, you have failed to provide security to the women of Jharkhand," he added.

Marandi said the development work has been done in Jharkhand whenever BJP ruled the state.

"Whenever BJP has formed the government in Jharkhand, development work has been done in the state," Marandi said.

"Whenever JMM has formed government, they have done nothing for the state and have only developed their family. They looted Jharkhand for 5 years and did not fulfil any promise. People have made up their mind to form NDA government this time," he added.

The party has promised financial assistance of Rs 2,100 per month to all the women of the state and two LPG cylinders free of cost to all the families.

If came to power, the party would guarantee 5 lakh jobs for the youth and ensure recruitment to 2,87,500 government posts.

In its manifesto, the BJP has promised infiltration from Bangladesh and the protection of the rights of indigenous tribal communities.

On the infrastructural front, the party has promised to set up of 'Diamond Quadrilateral Expressway' connecting major cities of the state including Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, and Gumla.
